The JDT have had an e-bike on lend from the Energy Saving Trust to trial out in the community, collectively cycling a whopping 180 miles instead of driving. The response has been very positive, with the general feedback being that if e-bikes were’t so expensive, more people would buy one and use, thereby reducing Jura’s carbon footprint. Amy is looking into the feasibility of having community owned e-bikes on Jura that could be lent out at affordable prices to residents, working with CoMo UK, local businesses and Home Energy Scotland to put together a proposal.
