Procedure changes at the community shop

To all of our customers,

The shop and Post Office are still open. To ensure this continues, we have put measures in place to minimise contact and allow for social distancing.

  • Please EMAIL OR CALL IN YOUR SHOPPING in advance and arrange a time to collect it from the back of the shop.
  • Only 2 CUSTOMERS will be allowed in the shop at any one time.
  • Please pay by CARD AND NOT CASH, wherever possible. Or use your debit account or feel free to set one up.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available soon and should be used.

The shop staff are there to help and are more than able to let you know what they can order in for you, so please just ask!

Our delivery situation is all running normally, thank you for placing your orders and supporting the shop.

  1. Please email your orders to the shop team, or call if you do not have access to email.
  2. We will contact you to let you know if anything is not available.
  3. Ask for anything if you are not sure.

If you are social distancing, we can to pack up your order and leave it at the back of the shop for you to collect. Please let us know a collection time and we will either have it ready by then or will let you know when it will be ready.

Volunteers

We have already had kind offers of help. If you are willing to volunteer, please email us a contact number.

We may need help collecting the van from Feolin or delivering orders to anyone self isolating.

We propose to have a contact list and will call to see if you are available. Sometimes this may be at short notice. If you cannot help at that point we will try another volunteer.

As things change, you may not be able to volunteer anymore and that is no problem at all. If you are happy, we will keep you on the list and may contact you again in the future.

We ask that any volunteer follow the advice set out by Argyll & Bute Council that can be found here: https://www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/sites/default/files/Unknown/v02-covid-19_community_support_guide_.pdf?fbclid=IwAR2JOPLDeAbDIGAzC-DRly7wLu7Yab_7R06j7k_BMtVpTa8CQTElc2xbMYo

Looking ahead

Jura has an amazing community and the shop will do their best to help make it through this uncertain time.

If we need to close the shop to customers entering the premises, we will put in place a collection only service. Rather like a takeaway you will call or email your order in and arrange a time for collection.

In that instance, we may also look at some kind of further delivery service.

We will keep you updated as much as we can in a changing environment.

If you have procedural questions, please contact Katy on co.sec.jscic@gmail.com or 01496 820027

If you have stock questions or would like to place an order, please contact the shop team on juracommunitystore@gmail.com or 01496 820 231

Thank you for your support and understanding.
