Bad weather early in the year delayed the start of the 2009 yachting season. More bad weather in August resulted in a lower number of vessels than originally projected using the facilities.
High insurance and service charges meant that the project didn’t break even financially.
However, 2009 was the first full operating season for the project and we hope that 2010 will bring better weather and allow the project to meet it’s full potential.
A questionnaire distributed to users during the feedback recorded a positive feedback on the improved facilities and most were happy to pay the £10 overnight fee. A number of users stated that the provision of a water supply would be useful. The Trust has investigated this option but is struggling to find to a suitable resolve at present.
